Anybody have one of these or know anything about them? I'm looking for a good strong front bumper with a 2" receiver that's not $500. Thanks

Take a look at this one, they are supposed to have a rear one too but I needed one so I went with the tomken rear. This will probably be my front

i wouldn't buy anything made by olympic. search for bumpers and you'll find a ton of options. here are a few.

I know people say a lot of bad things about Olympic. FWIW, I had one of their rear bumpers on my trailer queen YJ rockcrawler and that thing took a serious beating, several rolls and a ton of hard, hard hits and never bent or buckled. Just my experience.

I've got the BPI w/2 " reciever, & love it. Looks great, & it's solid. Same as the white XJ in the above post

i've got the olympic front winch-ready bumper and have never had any problems with it  I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, but apparently others don't think the same... :dunno: I've got a few pics here: http://community.webshots.com/user/collegeoffroad

sweet, you should send pics of your jeep in to c4x4. it could be a "new" model. Did you not get any directions with your purchase?

yeah, about that...i had some body work done when i let my now ex-gf drive my jeep and she hit a civic in the side- had to replace the bumper, but parents insisted on having it done at a shop. Long story short, shop put it on upside down, but since i don't have a winch yet, it's been a nice addition- I can use it as a step to get to the engine if caught in water  my nickname in my local club is actually "flip" :looser:

So I just finished this one, first try at an XJ bumper so it still has some bugs but I built it, I love it and it is all kinds of UGLY! :gee:

Thanks for the great info  . Does anyone use the Rigid? It looks like it would work well and they have some pretty cool rock rails also. Thanks :)

I put the Rigid front bumper on my 01 XJ about a month ago. It is built for stout, looks great and I really like it. Terry at Rigid is great to deal with, and will work with you for whatever customizing you want on your bumper. I do a lot of ranch work in my XJ, and wanted a front bumper that protruded forward farther than your typical rock buggy. He customized my order with different mounts that place the bumper forward.

My front bumpers will be coming out pretty soon (projected release end of August). Don't know how soon you are looking to buy, but just thought I would throw another option out there since most of the other companies were listed already.

Here are some prototype pictures:

Bud,
Did you use the "Bumper Mounting System" with your Rigid?

Thanks,
Michel

I did not, and that was at Terry's (with Rigid) advice. I have a Draw Tite front hitch already installed, and he said that it would be overkill to add their bumper mounting system. The front hitch already gives plenty of rigidity to the front frame rails, according to Terry. He could have sold me on that bumper mounting system, but did not.
