distributor bushings

I know for a fact now that my distributor bushings are dead....My question is would this cause a misfire. Thanks in advance for all help

Which distributor? The gap between the distributor cap electrode and the rotor, has tolerances, but isn´t really critical. The shaft moving up and down and side to side along,the with gear teeth being worn, can´t be good for the timing.
Single pieces like bushings and spacers are in the parts book, but getting the numbers is often hard. Parts guys, don´t want to spend the time for a couple of bucks worth of parts.
