proportioning valve?

do i need a specific proportioning valve when doing a disc brake conversion on an 87xj dana 44 rear axle? The kit is made by terraflex. Looking to avoid any awkward brake lockup

I think most folks who do the rear disc conversion use a proportioning valve from a ZJ Grand Cherokee with discs.

I have an 8.8 w/ disk and a front 44 w/ bigger calipers (1/2 ton) and Im running a bigger M/C and did the proportioning (spell?) valve mod (removing seal) and I can Almost (***note the word 'almost') lock up 35's

I run rear Rubi discs on a 44 with my stock 88 MC and its so much better than before. I was going to pull the seal in the PV, but i heard that it disables the redundancy in the brake system. IMHPO safety is first.

is this true?
