header cracked...here's how i fixed it

i read how most have spent the weekend pulling the intake to get the exhaust manifold off, to do a little welding on the collector that usually fails..
so i decided instead of all that ripping and tearing to just cut the collector off, while still on the xj and fab up an new one. i used OD diameter on the top and ID on the bottom and exhaust clamps on all 3 pipes...it only took me about 3hrs and that included a trip to parts store....i will post some pics when i get them.
its not the best fix but it worked until i can afford my new exhaust system

Last one I fixed was on a TJ...just welded it up while it was still on the rig

Yeah, that's what I did on my XJ's. With the airbox out of the way, it's not that difficult.

Did the same. It was hard to get in between the two tubes and the weld is quite ugly but it seems to be working fine.
