New idea to posi lock???

I am sure this is not a new idea but- I was brain storming with my "mechanic mentor" on 4wd system fixes. He suggested running a hand operated vacuum pump into the cab from the Dana 30 disco. Any reason this wouldn't work? Anyone try this?

youn could get you a vacum switch from a wagoneer that had it in the cab

you can also get a switch and console panel from an 84-86 XJ w/ selectrac.

it puts a little vac switch right where the coin tray behind the shifter is. looks very clean and works pretty damn good.

I've got those parts and I'm doing this to my MJ whenever I get the chance. I had this setup on my 85 w/ the 207 transfer case and a welded front axle. it was almost like having a selectable locker, and it only cost me about $12! (in 4wd, it will always put power to the driver's side front wheel, and hard left turns were a little rough, but hard right turns were cake)
