Easy way to count spline on D35?

Hey,
the guy I bought my jeep from was dead set on the fact that that somehow made his rear axle stronger when they rebuilt it. The only thing I can figure is they put in axle shafts with more spline. I have the Dana 35 with the C-Clip. Is there an easy way to count them, or do I have to open up the differential, remove some parts and then the axle shaft to do so?

Yes you have to open the diff up. Unless they put a super 35 kit in there it is not any stronger.
