Oil pan gasket replacement time...

gonna do it this weekend. What is the torque on the nuts going back on? I know someone here KNOWS !! :)

***FOR AN '88 4.0L***

1/4" x 20 = 84 inch-lbs

15/16" x 18 = 132 inch-lbs

(Looks to me like all '88 engines had these same values from my FSM.)

I just did it when replacing the rear main seal. The 1/4 in bolts are 80 in lbs (9 Nm) and the 5/16 bolts are 11 ft lbs (15 Nm). A Chilton manual is only about $15. Good investment.

:dunce: I rechecked my FSM. Apparently my morning coffee hadn't compensated for my B-Day drinking yet.

THEY ARE INCH POUNDS!!!!
