lets clear up the "chevy shackles lift"

i have looked and searched and keep finding different answers....

so when you use "stock" chevy shackles on a lets say '99 xj what net lift do you get

and when you use the chevy "lowering" shackles what does it net

i am doing the sye and driveline this weekend and am thinking of doing a shackle in the rear mainly to help with driveline angles and also to level the 1/2" low rear end
and i also have my shims handy after that
i dont want anymore than 1/2" out of the shackles

i have chevy 2" lowering shackles. they are 4" longer than xj shackles. they give me 2" of lift. since they are supposed to lower a chevy by 2" they must be 4" longer than stock chevy's too which must be the same length as xj shackles. aka no lift.

if you only want 1/2" go with mj shackles. they are 1.25" longer for .625" of lift. close enough.
