Redrilling XJ D44 shafts.

Has anyone successfully re-drilled their XJ D44 shafts to 5x5.5"? Is it possible?

I replaced my shafts with 5x5.5" alloys to match my front and I don't want to buy new spares. I would rather re-drill my stock shafts and use them as spares to save some money.

The flange isn't large enough on my stock shafts. If I remember correctly they would only leave something like an 1/8" material on the outside edge of the stud.

Are the holes still in your drum? Just buy a single wheel adapter for your spare shaft.
