I'm looking at picking up a D44 that has 3.54 gears. I know I've seen this somewhere on the boards before, but it shouldn't be a problem mixing those with the 3.55 gears in my front axle should it?

No problem. 3.54/3.55 are close enough....you'll see similar with 4.10/4.11 etc
