OIl pump mounting?

Hi, having a small problem with my new shortblock. the place were the oil pump mount up, thiers a small round sleave that sticks out does this need to be knocked in all the way? cause the oil pump wont fit snug with it up like the way it is.

I seem to recall that being a sort of alignment pin - you may have to grind a slight chamfer on it to "pilot" the pump on.

It's also a lower bearing/bushing for the pump drive shaft, so I'd be loath to remove it...

oh ok. thanks. actual what about knocking it in abit? it looks like it can be pushed in a little bit so it will be flush with the surface. i was just wondering it it was supost to be up like that. Im pretty sure it isnt. il go try and press it in.

it came right out lol. i thought it was pressed in thier. maybe it projects the hole??
