Felpro Head Gasket - Did I screw up?

Just finished buttoning up my '89 4.0 after a rebuild. As I was torquing down the head bolts, I pulled out my Chiton manual to verify max torque and it made mention to coat the head gasket with sealant and to make sure that the "top" mark was pointing up. Do the Felpro head gaskets require sealant? I've used them on other motors without any kind of sealant and didn't have any kind of problem. Also, one side of the gasket looked the same as the other and I didn't see "top" marked on it.

Any comments would be appreciated - I really don't want to pull off the head.

did the head on my 4.2l fj60, installed the gasket (felpro) dry and no problems....

Felpro head gaskets should be installed with no sealer...the block and head surfaces need to be clean and dry.
