what did i do????

i have a 96 xj. i was out the other day spining around in the snow ya know, some donuts and stuff, when all of a sudden my sterring locked up. i stopped and let it idle for bit. sterring loosened up but now it doesnt seem to have the same response as before. and pulling into parking spots is a pain. oh yah, it rolls on 33's with 3.5 of lift. :doh:

did you keep the steering wheel pinned over all the way (either direction) for a long time?

if so, you probably overheated and boiled out your power steering fluid.

at the very least you need to let it cool down a lot and then try the steering again later on.

check the fluid level and color. it shouldnt be brown and burnt.

you should think about doing a power steering fluid flush in the very near future.

that was four days ago. and it is not a burnt color nor does it smell bad. i will flush it but it still doesnt want to act properly
