spline count

Here's a toughy...I'm planning a "traction enhancement" soon, and the particular device I'm looking at shows 2 possible options for my rearend based on spline count, but I don't know which I have. I want make damn sure before I open up the rear pumpkin and tear into it. I've got the Chrysler 8.25 with trak-lok (99 xj/up country/4.0/ax-15) and 3.07 gears. Anybody know the spline count for this setup? Or is the info I need in the build sheet somewhere (or on the axle tag?)? The manufacturer (of the locker) shows both 27 and 29 splines for this axle setup.

The 8.25 went to 29 spline in the 96/97 year change.So you most likley have 29 splines.
The 96,s may have either.

I concur with Wayne. You should have a 29 spline. Make sure you get the one for the tracloc too.. I know the powertrax has an open and a tracloc version of their lock-rite and no-slip.
