New steering options

I have a closed knucle 44 from a 75 F250. I have rebuilt the entire thing from the inside out. I have one question on a steering change I was wondering since there is quite a bit of room in the knucle arm where there is a tapered hole for the tie rod, if i could drill a new tapered hole right behind it to make a slot for puch rod. I dont have the money to go over the nuckle steering, but I am going to make my own pushrod from the pitman arm to the knuckle insted of going from the pitman arm to the tierod, if u get what I am saying. So my real question is if I can just drill through the steering arm off the knuckle and make that the new pushrod hole. The arm is 3/4 cast thick so there wont be any strength issues.

What do all of u think.

Cheers,

Nik
