Just got to work and backed up into a parking spot and the whole jeep just started to grind and shake. (n)

I shut all my electronics off (radio, heat, wipers, lights).
Put it in forward and it seems to jerk and grind, in reverse it seems to be smooth for the moment.

I'm afraid to drive the heep home.

Any suggestions? I don't know if it's the teeth in the rear diff? or at one of the rear hubs?

If this is the case, man I can just hear the wife blahblah Park that POS and walk to work blahblah......

check the u-joints in the rear drive shaft. One of them might be seizing up.

Glad I decided to be a bachelor all my life hehe.

Well it turns out my Passenger side brake dicintegrated into dust....

Nothing wrong with my Diff. :D

Have you noticed a dragging feeling? I ask because that brake may have been binding. Quite awhile back it happened to me, in fact back when I was stock. Where the parking brake cable passes by the leaf pack it eventually created a bind in the cable's sheild. It was easily fixed with a new cable (and sheild, from the dealer).

Actually the inner lip of the outer drum completly chipped apart, the Parking Brake Strut fell from its position and wedged it self between a shoe and the drum.

New drum and I'm all set.

Good thing the weather is holding out, I've got to RTV my diff cover back on tomorow.
