Dana R&P Spacer?

Hey guys, quick Q on some Dana tech RE: ring gear spacers.

I've got a line on a D30 ARB that is meant for 3.54 and higher ratio gears. I want to run 4.10 gears so that means that I need to run a spacer on the carrier for this to work properly? or so I'm told by the guy selling the carrier.

Is this a good thing to do? Do these spacers work properly? Would the non-spaced gears be effectively stronger or weaker or?

Any input appreciated.

Ok, according to Randy's:

Spacers bad, thick gears good.

Their look up table doesn't seem to have thick reverse cut D30 gears...

Time for a phone call.

I just got off the phone with Al at Randy's Ring and Pinion. They do not recommend a spacer on a Dana 30 and there is no such thing as a thick ring
gear for the high pinion Dana 30.

Hmm...

Anyone running a Dana 30 with a spacer?

The carrier break for a D30 is 3.54 and down (lower #s -higher gear) or 3.73 and up (higher#s, lower gear)

That ARB won't help you out if you want 4.10... the part # you need (from my 2002 ARB/OME catalog) is RD30...
