Stupid XJ Questions - Lockers

JeeperJeff

NAXJA Forum User
Being "mechincally challenged" :dunno: I figured this is the place to ask the following...

What is the best locker for snow and mud on a daily driver? This would be for a 2000 XJ Sport.

TIA

Really depends how you want the locker to act, how much money you want to spend, what axles you have, and which axle (f/r) you want to put it in. If you want something that isn't noticeable on the road, you would want to go selectable although this option is usually pretty pricey. If you aren't really a hardcore offroad guy yet you may want to find a factory or aftermarket LS to throw in there. If you are new to the offroad scene you probably don't want to go with something such as a detroit in your DD, unless you want to modify your winter driving. Basically we need more info before we can really answer your questions.

Lockers can be tricky in the snow, but once you learn how to drive with one its doable. And look at it this way. If you slide off the road, Its easier to get back on again.:D
