axle swap Q

We have a D44 out of an 87 XJ, and want to put it into a 90 XJ. The 90 has 3.55 gears and the 87 has 3.54. These are basically the same gears aren't they? Should there be any problems with gearing? I can't see there being any.

You'll be just fine. I think up to a 2% difference is what is generally stated as the maximum acceptable difference.

They're the same....no difference at all.
