RE 3.5" Leaf bushing

I am getting ready for my install, and noticed that the bushings on the shackle end of one of my leafs do not extend beyond the sleeve. The shackle is about 1/16" wider than the spring eye because of this. When I attach, should I crank on the bolt to squeeze the shackle tight to the spring? It is going to be metal to metal because of the bushing not extending beyond that sleeve.

Don't crank it down. Just get it snug so the bushing won't slide around on the bolt. Don't try to hit the actual rubber part of the bushing. Mine are torqued to something liek 35-40 ft. lbs...I forget, I just tighten them by feel.
