My jeep has 113,000 miles on it and is making a loud clunking noise from the motor, it only clunks at a little below 1000 RPMs. anything below that is doesnt clunk. when i throw it in Netural or park the clunkin goes away but in gear it clunks. Is it a Timing chain, or crank bearing. Just wondering wut it is, and is it common in jeeps?? thanks!

The only thing I can think of is to check the torque converter to flywheel bolts. Otherwise drive it untill you hear a loud bang, by then the problem should be obvious

You say clunk? Is it a continual noise? is it a one time thing? is it worse during deceleration? could be alot of things. Rod bearings, wrist pins, piston slap, fly wheel or torque conv. bolts.
