Rear DS U-Joints Question

JEONLYEP

NAXJA Forum User
Earlier today I was laying under my Jeep looking at my loose rear ds u-joint. To my eye you have to pull the slip yoke out of the transfer case to get the shaft out. Is this correct? If so how much oil will be lost? What else might I need to know before starting to change U-joints? (I'm going to do both just to be sure their in good shape)

Thanks in advance

Daryl

If your Jeep is standing still you shouldn't have any ATF loss, but there may be a small drip or two. The fill hole for the t-case sits slightly lower than the output shaft so you're good unless you try to drive it
