90 XJ With weird electrical problem

When you pull out the light switch everything works fine, but you have to have the engine running before you shut them off otherwise they stay on. Now when I push in the switch and turn off the engine, the lights on the radio and washer bottle stay lit???? Is it the light switch that is causing the problem? Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Yup, the built-in time delay on my '90 keeps the lights on for about 45 seconds after the key is turned off, unless I turn the lights off before stopping the engine.

I was'nt aware of the delay. I have'nt had my jeep very long. I think I have an electrical problem, because after my lights go out my side marker light on the drivers side stays on, as well as some of the dash board indicators. I have to disconnect my battery cable or It will drain my juice.

my old 88 did that too dont worry about it, its a courtesy feature
