My transmission quit this week. I have found a good deal on a 1997 auto with 60,000 miles. I am thinking I need to replace the transfer case also, past thread I saw and now can't find said there was a differnce in splines. Can anyone help me out on info.

After looking at more posts I think I will change the TPS sensor first. But I would like to know if the 97 tranny will work on my 90.

Don't be in a hurry to throw the tranny away, these units are really bullet-proof! You didn't say what happened to the transmission, but there are a few common maladies that are easy to rectify. Yes, check the TPS, also there's a fuse under the glove box, if it blows the tranny won't shift. Good luck!
