I was in Anza Borrego this weekend and after climbing a long trail that got my temp past 230* .

I let it cool a bit and turning the key, the fuel pump was growling bad. No start. Dam.

After the usual checks, tried again. Growling pump and No Start.

Now I'm in trouble! 110* out, backwoods trail, ok don't panic.

So I Crack my gas cap and Whoosh for a good minute it let's out pressure, some fuel spits out too.

So I try to start, almost did.

Back to cap, pressure again.

Leave cap loose, it starts and I drive home with it loose no troubles.

Now I have it tight and no incidents since.

Never had that fuel system do that before since I've owned it brand new.

Just my story for your info.👍

AFAIK, there are two vents on top of our tanks, at least there are on my Jeeps. If the vent(s) clogged, seems it'd be upstream, purge/charcoal canister lines and not the actual vent(s).
