Fried ecu?

I was fabbing a new switch plate to go where my ash tray was. I put one of my switches in backwards, when I turned it on it popped the fuse for the radio. I use that curcuit for power to operate the relay. Anyway replaced the fuse now I have no instruments or idiot lights. Plugged in my scanner no codes. Plus I found fuses with no power, rear defogger won't stay on, only runs for a few seconds. 2000 xj sport. I'm stumped.

You might get lucky and do a battery disconnect for 10 min.But most likely you fried the ecu.Good Luck

There's more fuses that popped. Keep looking

I ran though all of them with my power probe, all look good. Under hood and pass. kick panel.

Turn on the lights and check fuses again.Bet your tail light fuse is blown

I'll check again when I get home. I'll be happy if it's only a fuse.

Ok, so a little update. First thanks for the responses. Thanks to Bobbie for getting me to check fuses again. Now, I'm a little embarrassed. When I was checking fuses the first time I started pulling looking at them and putting them back, then changed to my power probe to speed things up. I must not have been paying attention and put fuse 9 (instrument cluster) into slot 8 (empty/spare) so no power was going to my cluster.
