Flag mounting ?

From the Badlands rules.

"SUV/4x4’s and UTVs/Side by Sides must have the flag at least two feet above the highest point of the vehicle (not just the roof)."

Seems pretty simple, but does it have be mounted to the bumper using a long mast? I would rather mount it to the roof bar using a short mast. Any rules against or reasons for not doing it this way?

A lot of people have zip tied them to the radio antenna. The two foot rule is more for atvs and dirt bikes that are running the dunes.

Thanks, had not thought of doing that. Will keep it in mind as a last resort

I zip tied mine to my cage a couple times and they didn't care.

+1 on the antenna zip tie. I accidentally left it on while headed to town and lost one....Luckily I still had 3
