Best Gearing Ratio for Gas Mileage with 31s/32s? What Ratio is Stock? 97 Country?

Most I've heard say 4.10 for 31's.

Most I've heard say 4.56 for 33's.

Stock is 3.55 although some with towing package and optional gears had 3.73.

Even though computing tire size shows lower numbers, these larger tires are also wider & heavier and typically other modifications add weight.

My 97 with 30x9.5 get about 2 MPG less than my 01 with 235/75R15.

This is for automatic transmission.

Minimum 3.73's but 4.10's would be the best!

What is your commute like? Many hills or planning on running hills?
I would go with 4.56. In town mileage will be reasonable, maybe better than current. RPM at higher speeds will increase a small amount, nothing the 4.0 can't handle.
You may want to step up to 33's or larger at some point, which the 4.56 will help.

I got my 4.10 geared axles for a really good deal, that is why I ran them with 31's, and now 32's since JK wheel upgrade.
It's definitely better than 31+ with stock gears.
