2001 Cam position sensor

Trying to finish up an engine swap on an 01 XJ, 4.0L.

I've gone through my 00 FSM and read up on aligning the cam sensor but the one I have does not have any alignment holes to insert a toothpic into.

So where do I do from here?

I have not seen one that doesn't, but I've only seen a few and I haven't touched mine in many years. The two small hex bolts that hold the gray plastic down come off before you use the tooth pick? Have a picture?

You might have an aftermarket cam sensor drive. I bought a Dorman replacement a few years ago and it didn't have the 'toothpick' hole.
Found a good, stock drive at the JY.
