AW4 Separator Plate / Valve Body / Parts Questions

Hi All

I pulled my valve body apart last evening. An unidentified piece appeared loose from somewhere and I don't know what it is or where it goes. Here's a picture:

Also, there is a loose part laying inside a passageway. This part did not fall out of somewhere as I took the valve body apart, it has been in this passageway for a long time apparently. I have looked through the entire ATSG manual for this trans and see no reference to this part or anything in any of the pictures that resembles it. I don't know whether to leave it in there with the thought that it was put there on purpose to correct some kind of flow problem or take it out thinking that it is debris.

Ideas anyone?

Sorry for the links instead of having the pictures show up but when I use the image insertion button in the posting tool, neither my images nor the links are visible. I searched the forum for 10 minutes looking for what I was doing wrong there and gave up.

OK ... just a FYI ... Google Photos won't work as far as posting photos inside my post on this forum. Neither will the GoDaddy photo storage that comes free with my GoDaddy hosted website. Neither will Amazon photo storage which comes free with my Prime account. So I finally looked at what everyone else was using and went over to photobucket and opened a free account there.
