I flushed my block and water/coolant got all over my timing cover. Should i be concerned or will the gasket be ok once it dries out?

Just curious. Do people have a good method to keep water out from on top/behind timing cover when the water pump is out?

Generally, if it's keeping oil IN it will keep water OUT. The outside of an engine is pretty much waterproof...like for winter etc. unless it's UNDER water. :lecture:
