EGR Solenoid Replacement

Hello,

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement EGR solenoid besides the dealer?

This is for a 1988 Cherokee 4.0L automatic. I ran through the standard vacuum tests today, and it appears that I need a new EGR valve and solenoid. There is vacuum on the input side, but none on the output after disconnecting the wiring harness.

After searching the internet for about an hour, I've only found the dealer part (3300-2298). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like oem or JY are your two options. Cheapest new one I saw was $75.46. Ouch.

Any small 12 volt electric solenoid valve for small lines should work. It may need to have a third port for venting? I think the one on my 2001 Saturn is basically the same spec. But it is part of the air pump emissions BS set up...

This might work,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/131792327755?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true

or one similar, there must a ton of them on ebay, in the junk yard and in industrial control supplier cats like Johnson or johnstone controls for HVAC stuff.

Checked Rock auto yet?

You will need to determine if the oem valve is normally open or normally closed and buy that type only.

I appreciate the responses. Thank you.

From what I can gather, the solenoid is normally open. I took a flyer on the cheapest EGR solenoid that Amazon had to offer, but that one was normally closed.

I'm going to ask around the local jeep specialists in my area, and if that doesn't yield anything, I'll hit the pick n pull with a vacuum pump and a 9 volt.
