My Jeep has a P0158. I believe the wires on the sensor finally broke and shorted. The driver on the ECU is not burnt out (yet) as it will occasionally go out. Have checked the voltage on the sensor, and it's reading 1V ... but will show .3-.8 when it's working.

The problem is - and this is why it broke - the sensor is, literally, right against the bellhousing. This is the downstream, rear sensor. The wires have to immediately make a 90 degree bend.

I'm sure I could break this one off and remove it with a short socket, but the problem becomes putting in the new one. There's no way that I can see to thread it out.

Is there a quick way to do this or do I have to remove the collector thing with the two cats from the exhaust manifold and crossover in order to replace that sensor?
