There is a filter inside of the orifice tube that is replaceable but after you cut the tube open how do you reconnect it?
Compression fitting Union?
Braze it back together

You have to replace the whole line. Thank Chrysler for that. Do not braze it or anything else. And you need to have someone vacuum the system before charging or you can get acid buildup in the system.

Yea its a stupid design....
Was trying to save myself $30 on replacing the line.
IDK why the orifice tube filter is available when its a non serviceable deal...

Usually you can't even service it other than clean or replace it. FYI if you find a lot of metal in it, the compressor is likely on its way out, if you find papery stuff, the dryer has likely failed.

And for others that search this subject rock auto sells a kit that includes the filter and compression fittings for connecting the tube back together after its cut and the orifice filter is replaced but its around $20.(stupid)
A new line is about $30 so thats a no brainer.
