Tail pipe differences across years?

Hey everyone, quick question. I just picked up my 2nd XJ, an 01, first one was a 93. It seems certain parts were way cheaper for the 93, parts, like the muffler and tail pipe, which should not be any different. Are there any differences and if so what are they for the tail pipes?

I see aftermarket catbacks are usually good for 84-01, but the stock replacement tail pipes usually vary wildly from year to year.

For example:
Tail pipe for 86-92:

vs tail pipe for 97-01:

Are there any differences? It even looks like they used the same pic... That's 330% higher price, lol :D

Any help appreciated, would rather spend the 35 dollar difference on one of them fancy mufflers, without holes :)

Prob the mounting flanges at the cats are different, but aftermarkets are clamped on(dynomax cat-back even comes with a weldable flange).
