Pick Up the Burn 2016

8 A.M. to 3 P.M.

Join DNR staff and partners to care for trails and recreation sites in the Yacolt Burn State Forest. Work will include picking up litter and general clean-up. Registration will start at 8 a.m., with a 9 a.m. safety briefing. Lunch will be provided at 2 p.m. View our flier for more information.

What to bring
Weather appropriate clothing, gloves, boots, and water.

Directions

From northbound or southbound I-5, take I-205 exit toward Vancouver, WA. Use Highway 500 East (Exit 30-Orchards Exit). Go east on Highway 500 to Fourth Plain (1st light) and turn right continuing on Highway 500 East. Go 6.3 miles, then turn left on 53rd Street. Go 3.2 miles, and turn left on Ireland Road. Go 0.3 miles and turn left on Lessard Road. Continue on Lessard Road (turns into Boulder Rd.) for 4 miles. Veer left at the fork, and proceed toward the parking lot/staging area.

Yup, I believe they opened from their seasonal closure, 5/1.

I'm going to try and make this. It's been awhile since I've been up in the Yacolt Burn, and it's always a fun event.

Made it out for a half day. Pretty good turn out from the motorized community, and awesome weather to be in the forest.

One of a few places we cleaned up.


Maybe we can get a group together and come run these trails sometime!
