D35 backing plate interchange???

Anyone know if you can use the brake backing plate off a non-c-clip d35 on a c-clip 35?

One of my backing plates on my XJ is totally shot and needs to be replaced. The 35 out of my MJ is sitting on the floor in the garage with good backing plates and all relatively new brake components. The MJ housing was non-c-clip and had the larger 10" brakes. Will the bigger brakes swap over onto the c-clip housing in my '90 XJ?

How about if I put it this way:

Anyone ever swapped ZJ d35 discs onto an early (pre-'90) non c-clip 35? If that is bolt on it should be the same for my 9" to 10" drum swap. Make sense?

I have no idea but you can always just try it, right? If it doesn't work, you're out maybe two hours and some brake fluid.

The flange on the housing should be the same pattern. I used a 1990 d35 backing plate on an 1998 8.25 and they were the exact same. Go for it
