Wipers and Stereo Went Out At the Same Time

Hello folks.

I have a 97 XJ, that doesn't get used much lately.

A couple weeks ago, I took it for a drive. The stereo was working until I hit the wipers. The wipers went up a little, then stopped, and the radio went out.

A little later, a few miles down the road, they both worked again.

The next time I drove the Cherokee, the same exact thing happened, except the front wipers, nor the stereo have worked since.

Any ideas on the cure?

What troubleshooting have you done so far ? The obvious guess is a faulty wiring or perhaps a fuse. Where exactly would be another guess, you will have to do some diagnostics.

Faulty/corroded Ignition switch connections on lower steering wheel column, perhaps?
