Does anyone know if a center console out of a '01 XJ will fit in a '96 XJ without major modification?

Modification is required but I'm not sure if I'd call it major.
Swap the rear bracket, should bolt up otherwise. Little work to make the e brake work, and if you want working rear vents you need to cut and paste the two vent setups together to fit

JCR makes a center console bracket, kinda spendy, but it won't break like a stock plastic POS.
I am not using the bracket in my XJ or MJ. Console fits snug between the seats. But YMMV.
