A/C Compressor

Hi everyone,
I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 inline 6 and I am trying to change the A/C compressor. I lost my factory service manual in the recent move. It is my understanding that I can change the compressor without releasing the pressure in the lines. Could you tell me how this is done? What valves do I have to adjust.
Thanks,
Alex

Wish it was true, but there are no valves on 97-01 XJs. Don't know about the earlier years.

To legally change the compressor, it needs to be first evacuated by a certified HVAC mechanic, with the refrigerant recycled.

You can replace the clutch without draining the system.
