No power to headlight switch!

I have a 97 xj. I tried to turn my headlights on, and the knob just pulled straight out.

Bought a replacement from Advanced, running lights work, but no headlights. Bought another one, same issues.

After some trouble shooting with my Multimeter, I found that there is no power coming to the headlamp switch from the Battery(?) or Fusebox(?) on the headlamp circuit. The Running lights have their own brown wires with power. I have checked all my fuses and they are good. I am trying to trace the red and/or red/white wire back to the battery but I don't know where it is coming from. Any help?

Found it... great big 30a fuse under the hood.... now to go put my whole dash back together...

I know this is my fault for not disconnecting the battery (or pulling the fuse from the start)
