What gauge? I have a micro D/C inverter stick welder that runs 1/16th stick pretty nice.

It is sheet metal. I have a gate control that I need blanked. I got a sheet of stainless to do it. I want it to look nice because it is the keypad to get into my neighborhood. This is the cover I am blocking off. I am going to strip all the raised stuff off of it so it is flat.

I'm guessing off hand that it is about 12x18. I can remove the cover and bring it into someone.

Just weld it.
I weld stainless at work all the time.
Weld the backside
Don't burn through
Wire brush and done
Paint your weld so it won't rust.
Or is the weld going to be on the face??
