I'm sure this has been asked before, but i am interested in purchasing a set of 2014/2015 Rubicon wheels for my 2001 XJ.

Will these fit or are the bolt pattern different?

Bolt pattern will be different. Adapters to run those wheels will cost ya about $190. Just ordered some through quadratec.

Correct on needing adapters. However, depending on where you purchase the wheel adapters can range anywhere between $85 and up.
There are several sets of hub-centric on ebay.

I bought my wheel adapters through Rough Country. Very good price and solid aluminum.
