'01 Dakota 5.9 R/T

Traded the Sami for it!

This is the beater I'd been looking for but couldn't find. Guy answered my craigs ad for the Sami and I was shocked when he said he had a 5.9 Dakota R/T he wanted to trade.

He drove it from Florence today, and had to have the Sami.

Worked out perfect for me.......

Needs the dakota emblems on the doors replaced, the AC compressor replaced and a squeaky front end addressed.

Has brand new Bridgestone Duelers, rack and pinion and PS pump, oil and trans service done.

Drives great and FAST.......:D

My wife had a 2002 4x4 Quad Cab and I had a 2wd 2003 model just like the one you got only with a 3.9V6 and 5 speed. Fun little truck.

Those were very nice trucks and wish I still had them.

Man........ there's LOTS to be said about having V8 power AND room for my big self in the cab of a smaller than full size truck. And so much more SOLID than an XJ/MJ.

This thing has me seriously considering bailing on the rest of my MJ projects..........

K.

:D

Seriously, they are roomy? Every US down sized pickup I've sat in is too small for me. The MJ's were just barely passable, head room, but no leg room.

I'm currently shopping dakotas, and yes, the interior is substantially roomier than an MJ... at least in the quad cabs I'm looking at. Compared to a ranger I drove, they feel like a full size. Compared to my full size, they don't. :D

Yep, considerable differences all around. The solid feel of the whole truck is what drew me to them. The comfort and room inside sold me.

Yep. But they sure are a damn near perfect compromise between the two.

Yeah, if I could find one in decent mechanical shape that didn't smell like wet rat turds for somewhere near market value, I'd already be in one... Titan sold this morning so I'm about to be taking the bus.

The truck doesn't have the nicest paint, a few hail dents on the hood and a small area of cheesy body repair along the passenger side door and cab....... but I just had to get the proper decals back on the truck.

I might have just left it alone if the other side looked like this side....

But this side bothered me.....

And the bare tail gate........

And it just seemed appropriate to get one of these for the grill like all the other R/T vehicles out there......
