So, I finally got the motor buttoned up, and was tearing down the front-end to get that shaft (the welded one from NW Fest) replaced. I got to the first lock nut and it wouldn't budge. I ended up using a cheater bar and lifted that half of the truck off the jackstand and it STILL won't budge. Even used a hammer. Guess I'll need PB Blaster or something ...

Torx ... you should arm wrestle bears.

It shouldn't be that tight. I only used an 18" breaker, and a few good oomphs.

I've always heard the outer lock nut should be ~100 ft/lbs.

Well you were on a time limit and no torque wrench. Add beer, you might have gone a wee bit tighter lol

Dang 100 ft lbs is almost impossible to remove. My ding dong buddy had Schwabs do new(China) bearings and we burned up a 1/2 "electric impact broke my 3' 1/2" breaker bar wound up using a coal chisel and angle grinder to remove the nut... next time he needs ball joints I think axle swap will come to mind.
