High speed only heater fan

99 XJ with air....Only works on high speed. Must be a resistor device? And where is the device located?

Under the dash, passenger side. Be sure to check the connector, as well.

The resistor block is located on the rear lower side of the HVAC Unit.

The kick panel under the glove box has to be removed to get at it. Roll down the glove box to get at the upper screws on the kick panel.



The resistor block is located by the Recirc Door actuator.





On more than one occasion, the thermal fuse in the resistor block has melted due to high temperatures in the air chamber or high current draw from the blower.

Thanks for the info, easy job....Mr mouse was living in there and used the resistor for his urinal....My wife did say the AC smelled like piss...
