OEM Cross bar play

Does anyone know how to take the play or wiggle out of the OEM cross bars? It is happening right where the metal tube is connected to the feet which is then connected to the rails on the roof. I want to put a basket up there to cary a tire and some gas cans. Thanks!

Replace them with drip rail mounts, or dont put heavy shit on them, thanks!

I agree with xcm. The weight limit of the OEM rack(s) is ~ 100 lbs. evenly distributed. A basket rack and tire will come close to that weight limit. A gutter mount kit for the basket will be very secure and will carry twice/three times as much weight, gear...safely.

As to the original question, there should be set screws at the corners...or there's always glue. At the rack to runner there are big round thumb screws to loosen/adjust/tighten the crossbars. On the runners them selves there are torx screws holding down the runner.
