What do you want??

January 7th, 2015, 13:50
Filet mignon served medium rare with roasted fingerling potatoes in duck fat
3 fingers of single malt

RC cola and a moonpie for dessert

January 7th, 2015, 16:22
Filet is not a man's steak. Will you have lost all input

January 7th, 2015, 16:47
I'm trying to cut back on quantity. If that's the case, I'll take a ribeye.....bloody. F the scotch too, gimme a big beer like a IIPA or barrel aged barley wine.

January 7th, 2015, 17:36
^ if thats what you're serving I'm coming too

January 9th, 2015, 10:57
I vote anything fast, filling and easy! I'm not big on big meals while camping and whelling unless we hit the town ;)

January 9th, 2015, 13:59
there was that one year we all went in town to eat....and Kurt wrote "hola vato" in the mud on my jeep lol

I just want some more boudin and I'm happy

January 12th, 2015, 05:36
Chili. Especially if its supposed to be cold.

January 12th, 2015, 07:15
speaking of chilli, any one interested in doing a chilli cook off?

January 12th, 2015, 07:16
Hmmmm....chili cook off sounds pretty good. Automatic elimination for beans.

January 12th, 2015, 07:37
I'd be willing to make a big pot of Chilli. It would be TX chilli no beans ;) and probably too HOt for Yankees.

they also opened a place called Boudin Shack here... I'm planning on bringing some for breakfast.

January 12th, 2015, 07:47
some one would need to bring a generator or a few inverters to run all the crock pots

January 12th, 2015, 08:24
Or we eat by one of the cabins then have a fire and adult beverages around the fire ;)

January 12th, 2015, 09:27
hmmmm....Yeah our little bunkhouse thing has electricity but we may throw a breaker with a bunch of crockpots plugged in. Do the bunkhouses have firepits?

January 12th, 2015, 09:44
The cabin has a fire pit, I like the chili and boudin. Dunno if we would have enough people for a cook off, but sounds good to me. I know everyone liked Will's boudin last year, so if you want to bring enough for everyone the chapter would reimburse you. Same goes if we decide to go with one person's chili. Or if we do a cookoff make it a cash prize (not much, just enough for ingredients+ a bit)

January 12th, 2015, 10:12
Looks like grills, but not fire pits

January 12th, 2015, 18:23
It would be hilarious with a bunch of dudes standing outside one of those bunk houses with some extension cords running from them all cooking chili in crock pots.

January 12th, 2015, 19:05
don't knock the chili man

January 13th, 2015, 05:24
I'm not knocking it. I was the one who originally suggested it.

January 13th, 2015, 08:15
OK I'll make Chili... should be a reasonably big pot! I can re-heat over fire or charcoal. If needed I could bring my propane base for my Turkey fryer that will heat it fine. Then we can cook down in Xterra camp. Maybe somebody bring something to go with it... corn bread, rolls? ;)
I'm also going to bring Bodin for breakfast as I want to check out this local place here in Robinson. Maybe we can compare with any other brought. Friday night I think I'll head to Bodasious or somewhere out in town.

January 13th, 2015, 08:58
Are we still talking about going to Xterra camp now? You and I will be in the bunkhouse. Patrick and his family will have the cabin.

Errbody else: you want to be in improved RV area like a few years ago (the cold ass ROM with official chia speed nightmare) or down at xterra?

January 15th, 2015, 04:45
OK I can make Chili I assume enough for all of us. My recipe I have from when my old club did this is for 60 :) I need a guesstimate on numbers so I can break out my slide-rule and modify the recipe. BOD can you make a guess after registration starts. I notice those registered come and others may wait too long to decide for me to count ;)

Will, I will heatup at bunkhouse do not really care where we eat or hang out. I just thought some would still be camping at Xterra. Can you camp by the RV if nobody has a spot there?

March 10th, 2015, 06:19
So what is the final on this? I'm wondering how much food I should bring.

March 10th, 2015, 07:41
Xjintx is making chili and bringing budin, I an bringing sides, byob.

March 13th, 2015, 04:36
OK my Chili will only be for the "Men" in the crowd ;) Maybe I need to get some dogs or sausage or something for the others that don't like Chili? My wife says it's too spicy for her :)
Heck there is a store we can pick up stuff there that we may have forgot anyway.

Oh and Patrick the place here that made real Boudan is closed for Spring Break :( I can't get any unless HEB sells it.

March 13th, 2015, 06:03
I'm bringing this guy with me

March 13th, 2015, 07:22
HEB sells boudin but it's only fair. I mean...it's better than no boudin.

March 13th, 2015, 10:12
I almost picked some up at heb this morning.

March 13th, 2015, 11:02
I got some from Kroger

March 13th, 2015, 11:38
You two are so close to the LA border. Y'all can't find anything legit?
