ok i have a 99 XJ, auto, last kid swapped the motor/trans for a lower mileage pair. i installed a winters shifter on it and the pan bracket thing did not line up with any of the bolts which threw me off at first, but one seems to hold it fine for now.
2nd, i noticed i do not have the gear position sensor on the shifter arm nub or what ever you call it, it seems to be all internal. the new shifter is not hooked up to any wires but will not start in any gear other than P/N and the reverse lights come on when in R.
so, this an oddball AW4 year or normal for them?
