2001 XJ, AW4, I6 4.0
Is it necessary to coat the outside of the axle seals in sealant before pressing them in to the axle tubes.

No. Just press them in

^^^ what he said... But I also take this opportunity to take a wire brush and clean up my axle shafts so they are free from any possible debris ruining my new seals.

Would you pur loctite blue on the ring bolts. The factory bolts I have never came with anything or would you just put tem in with no loctite. Thanks

on most bolts I use some sort of loctite depending on application
